Distance
learning programs are designed to provide greater flexibility in where and when
you study. They give you the power (and responsibility) of managing your own
learning experience. Yet, as good as that may sound, distance learning is not
for everyone. Please read the following information about distance learning
carefully before you decide to enroll in an Alliance distance learning program.

How Does Alliance Distance Learning Work?
|
|
Almost all of The Alliance distance learning programs are Internet-based and all of the courses require a computer. Internet based courses connect you to the Internet for some or all of your course needs. If your course is not Internet based, you will receive the instructional materials you need to complete the course by mail. Most of these courses use CD-ROM disks along with some printed material.
Once you receive the instructional materials for your distance learning course, you can create your own study routine within the requirements and schedule of the course. From time-to-time, as part of your program, you may have telephone conversations or e-mail correspondence with your instructor/tutor or counselor. Just as in classroom learning situations, you can expect quizzes, assignments, papers and/or final exams as well as mandatory course completion dates with most distance learning courses.
If you have not taken any distance learning course before, we suggest you start with “How to be a Successful Distance Learner”.
