Transition Skills
The Alliance has a
comprehensive training package available for individuals being
impacted by downsizing and layoff. This training is supported by a
network of Alliance career counselors and includes courseware
specifically developed for telecom employees.
The Alliance Transition Package includes:

with a career transition planning process and one-on-one counseling
to develop a transition education/career plan.

JOB SEARCH / INTERVIEW / RESUME WORKSHOP: provides
individuals with the information, and a strategy to implement a
successful search for new employment. Included are seminars on
interviewing skills and practice, along with the development of a
personalized resume. Learn More.
FINANCIAL TRANSITION: helps individuals focus on the personal
financial impact of a layoff or retirement offer decision. Topics

payments and other financial issues related to job loss. Typically,
company-specific benefit information is included.

TEST TAKING SKILLS: is designed to help individuals prepare
for a variety of qualifying exams required for employment. Since
many jobs in the telecommunications field and public employment
require qualifying tests, this training focuses on general testing
skills and can be customized to cover specific qualifying tests
(courses for tests for a range of telecommunications jobs are
currently available). Learn More.
The Alliance also has
the experience to work with companies and unions to link public
sector resources to our transition programs, including potential
grant funding.
