| TERMS AND CONDITIONS AT&T/ALLIANCE TRANSITION TO TEACHING PROGRAM
is available to employees embarking on second careers entering the teaching
profession at the primary or secondary level. The eligibility requirements
are as follows:
ELIGIBILITY
Occupational employees must leave the payroll voluntarily via a force
management plan, have at least five years of service and hold a
baccalaureate degree (at the time of termination).
REIMBURSEMENT
Program participants will be reimbursed for valid expenses incurred in
conjunction with the alternate-route or other post-baccalaureate
certification process in the state designated by the participant on the
registration form. The AT&T/ Alliance Transition to Teaching staff will
determine whether expenses qualify for reimbursement. Each participant may
be reimbursed up to a maximum of $2,500.

reimbursement form, as well as receipts for expense reimbursement
to the AT&T/Alliance Transition to Teaching Program at the following

TAX STATUS
All reimbursement payments under this plan are currently considered taxable
to the participant. Individuals will receive “1099” forms from AT&T/Alliance
reflecting amounts paid to them and are responsible for paying the taxes
associated with these payments. AT&T/Alliance will not withhold any taxes
from reimbursement payments.
TIME FRAMES
Program participants must submit the
registration form to enroll in the Transition to Teaching Program
within six months after leaving the payroll and may continue to be
reimbursed for certification related expenses for a time period not to
exceed three years after enrollment.
SPECIAL NOTES
AT&T/ Alliance does not guarantee Program participants that they will be
accepted into a state-approved program, that they will be certified, or that
they will be offered a teaching job when certification is complete.
This Program will not reimburse individuals for tuition associated with
completing a baccalaureate degree, which is a prerequisite for
alternate-route or other post-baccalaureate certification programs.
AT&T/Alliance will provide Program participants with introductory
information, but follow-up with individual state program personnel will be
the participant’s responsibility.
AT&T/Alliance reserves the right to amend or discontinue the AT&T/Alliance
Transition to Teaching Program at any time without incurring any obligation
to current or future participants. This means, among other things, that
AT&T/Alliance reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, discontinue the
reimbursement of expenses provided for under this Program.
